Fang and Kotchka

Hi - my name is Fang and I am a cat... I was born about a year and a half ago. One day I went for a long walk and happened to find this cool house, an old church actually, and decided to move there. I stood by the back door in the rain and waited until the two grownups inside noticed me and let me in. After that I never left. I like it here: plenty of trees to climb, bugs to chase in the garden, and goldfish to try to catch in our pond. I also met Kotchka here. Together we play a game called "high cat wins". The point of the game is to see who can find a place to sit higher than the other one. It goes like this: I get on the chair, he jumps on the piano, I jump on the stairs, he jumps on the balcony - only to realize that now I am the one closer to the cat food bowl. So I run back downstairs and still feel that I have won.
My humans were going to name me something equivalent to Kotchka's name (which means "cat" in Czech). They thought about Katze, Chat, Gato and several others. But then they noticed that I was this tree-climbing machine with long teeth, and my name was found...

This is me about six months ago on my new sidewalk my humans built for me. Aren't they nice?

Greetings - my name is Kotchka (meaning "feline" in Czech) and I am a cat too... I was born in October 1995 in a part of Slidell called Chamale. When I was little, about 3 weeks old, I got separated from my mother and found myself lost in the rain. I was all wet, hungry and cold, hiding under a car. But then I saw these two sucker humans driving by and they saw me. I told myself that if I look exceptionally pitiful, maybe those two would adopt me. So I tried my best to look sad, lost and wet. They stopped, picked me up and that was it. Since then I have always lived in a nice warm house with cat toys, gourmet food and other good stuff. Every year my humans get me this tall pine-scented cat toy to play with they call a Christmas tree. They even built me this big house that used to be an old church. It has plenty of stairways to play on and places to hide and sleep. Then one day, this black and white pest of a cat came to live there with me. But Fang is now my friend and I like his company.
