Three structural traps in a Miocene Gulf of Mexico deltaic sequence.
The updip one (right-most)
and the downdip one (left-most) are downthrown closures
set up by large south-dipping regional normal faults.
The middle trap is an upthorn closure against an antithetic fault.
Notice that the downthrown closures donot show any amplitude signature.
The upthrown closure has a well developed amplitude with excellent structural fit.
All three traps have been drilled: the downthrown traps are wet, the uptrown trap has gas pay.
